This innovative company has designed a series of fully functioning fireplaces which emit 2kW of heat and are capable of concealing a plasma TV. Controlled via the same remote that operates the fire, the plasma screen rises and descends at the touch of a button, and instead of a standby mode, the TV automatically turns on when raised and switches itself off as it descends making the units environmentally friendly.
In addition to running Picture House, the award-winning inventor and furniture designer David Free presents “The Great British Woodshop” TV programme on Discovery Real Time. Speaking of his inspiration, he comments: “My living room looked soulless with this big black box on the wall – so I came up with this idea of concealing the plasma TV inside a working fireplace - combining the two main focal points of the room.”
On display at the show, the new Vista boasts a stylish ‘hole-in-the-wall’ style fire and is available in a variety of colours, including white, black and buff sandstone. The Vista that we have pictured features a black pearl finish, a black mirror Lumis fire and ice white stones.
Picture House offers a range of plasma fireplace designs to suit different tastes and décors, including the Italian-style Napoli Petite in cream marble; the Mystic Petite in black marble; the Classic - a timeless, elegant fireplace; and the Tudor, a solid oak and marble plasma fireplace. All are available with the option of pebbles, lava rock, woodland log or driftwood.
