In a project costing over one million pounds and taking 24-months to complete, a 50-storey apartment development in London received the full proAV treatment…
Principal Place is a new 375,000-sq.ft office, residential, retail and leisure development in the City of London designed by Foster & Partners. At the centre of the new development is Principle Tower, a landmark apartment tower that will make it one of London’s tallest residential buildings at 50-storeys high.
proAV were first introduced to this development by W1 during the initial construction phase at Principal Place regarding the design, fit out and commissioning of the audio/visual solution in the high-end Marketing Suite, in order to facilitate the sale of the private luxury apartments in Principal Tower. The Suite included landlord areas, a screening room and main reception and it was essential that the AV system and apartment controls worked seamlessly to provide a fully integrated end-user experience. The solution included a double-sided video wall including 18 Samsung LED panels, a Crestron control system, Lode-Audio streaming device, KNX lighting and a full mock-up of an example apartment.
Based on the success of the Marketing Suite project, proAV engaged with the client and M&E contractor and were subsequently appointed to install the structured cabling infrastructure throughout the whole 268 apartments in Principal Tower.
The technologies that feature in this AV scheme are:
• Double-sided video wall inc.18 Samsung panels
• Peerless AV mounting solution for video wall and displays
• Crestron processor and control system delivering audio through the marketing suite
• Lode-Audio streaming device
• KNX lighting solution
proAV also have a service level agreement contract in place for the support of the marketing suite systems and hardware. When the residential tower is complete and private clients have moved into their apartments, they can offer a range of support packages tailored to specific individual requirements and concierge services.
On completion of the infrastructure installation, proAV have been given the opportunity of facilitating the client package options in the residential tower, where prospects can choose from a ‘Bronze, Silver, or Gold’ package to meet the requirements of their desired home automation solution. A 4th package option will also be available to clients who want a more bespoke and customisable audio visual and smarthome solution.
