Small but perfectly formed, the latest in RIVA’s wireless multi-room WAND Series speaker range, the Arena, packs an almighty audio thump. Featuring no fewer that three ADX drivers and three passive radiators to achieve a room-filling range, a three-channel amp handles the signal processing, whilst 50W of power give it a real kick. The resulting sound quality emitted by the Arena is nothing short of exceptional.
Minimalist in design with a slick wraparound grille covering most of the body, basic control buttons feature on the top (main control is managed via smartphone or tablet using the RIVA WAND app), whilst round the back you’ll find a 3.5mm aux, a USB slot for additional playback and device charging, a ‘home’ and ‘away’ toggle switch, wall mount screw and of course, power in (an optional battery pack is available separately).
But it’s the connectivity that really sets the Arena apart from others of it’s wireless ilk. Offering to play nice with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay and DLNA, set-up out of the box is a simple matter of plugging into the mains, waiting for the Arena to go into connection mode and then, using either Google Home or the Airplay app, making contact; then you can just sit back and let yourself be amazed by the incredible fidelity this little box of tricks delivers.
Naturally, as well as letting you play tunes from your own music libraries, you can also cast online audio over from all the usual suspects and, sealing the deal, the Arena even supports hi-res audio for the most sensitive of ears.
Priced at a very reasonable £225 and available in black or white, for those seeking a sleek, sexy multi-room audio system that oozes sound substance as well as style, the Arena ticks all the boxes of looks, connection flexibility, power and beautifully balanced audio.
