Here at SVI there is a distinct level of excitement in the air as the recently launched SVI Awards 2008 are now in full swing. Covering categories such as 'Best Speaker Bracket', 'Best Video Server' and 'Best Mini Hi-Fi System', nominations could not be easier thanks to our online voting form.
By clicking on the main feature on this fabulous website you can be part of the SVI Awards 2008. Simply cast your vote in the category of your choice and not only will you have the chance to voice your opinions, you will be eligible for our prize draw.
Nominations are open until February 29th, when all the votes will be counted and we'll announce the nominees in issue 51 of SVI, with winners being announced in the following issue.
When we announce the nominees, we also have the happy task of revealing who has won one of the goodies featured below. We offer our sincere thanks to the both Invision and Alphason Designs for the kind donations and invite everyone to get voting!
LOGITECH HARMONY 1000
Courtesy of Invision UK we have this latest addition to the Harmony range of universal remote controls. Featuring a 3.5-inch colour touch-sensitive screen and patented Smart State Technology, the Harmony 1000 enables users to switch between listening to music and watching home cinema by simply selecting a single activity button.
Capable of controlling any device which has an infrared receiver, including High Definition TVs and DVD-players, the optional Logitech Harmony Wireless Extender provides the added convenience of allowing entertainment systems to be operated without the need to point the control panel in a specific direction.
The Harmony 1000 has a suggested retail price of £250 and is available in a brushed chrome and piano-black finish. The Logitech Harmony Wireless Extender retails at £70.

AMBRI 1100
The Ambri 1100 cabinet has been kindly donated by Alphason Designs and can support LCD/ Plasma screens up to 50-inches in size. Consisting of an enclosed design, the cabinet features an inlayed safety glass door which boasts a smooth action when opened and closed. The interior accommodates a variety of AV products, such as DVD-players, thanks to an adjustable safety glass shelf.
For further convenience, the interior features integral storage for both CDs and DVDs in the form of a clear safety glass shelf which is adjustable, whilst the rear panel of the cabinet has been colour matched with pre-cut slots providing easy cable access. With full 360-degree motion, no less than six roller glides ensure that all movement is virtually effortless.
The Ambri 1100 is available in a choice of three finishes, including Black Satin Sparkle, a Walnut real-wood veneer and a Light Oak real-wood veneer finish – the version all voters in the SVI Awards will be eligible to win.
