Fischer Connectors' 1053 HDTV Series of connectors has been adopted by MTV throughout their High Definition broadcasting operations, equipping its state-of-the-art HD camera system and bespoke outside broadcast vehicle with the firm's products.
Fischer Connectors' International Broadcast Business Manager, Mark Richards, states that, “An organisation like MTV simply can't afford to have things go wrong; when recording a live event it needs to know that it's getting the footage it needs and the 1053 goes a long way to removing that worry. It's a proven system offering state-of-the-art technology and there simply isn't anything else quite like it on the market.”
The 1053 family, developed in collaboration with cabling specialists Corning, is designed for quick field assembly and maintenance and incorporates the latter company's epoxy-free UniCam fibre-optic technology. Fully SMPTE signal-compliant, the 1053 HDTV camera connector meanwhile features two single-mode fibre contacts, two high-voltage contacts and two low-signal contacts, aimed at producing cleaner signals with lower signal loss.
