NEW IDENTITY FOR CEDIA EXPO

Last month, following extensive consultation with the industry, CEDIA announced that its annual CEDIA Expo would return to ExCeL London in 2010 (Exhibition: 15th–17th June, Training: 14th–17th June).
However, as reported in SVI, the Association also used the consultation process to consider the direction of the show and to decide upon whether a change of focus was necessary to ensure, and improve upon, the current standing of the show.

The feedback CEDIA received suggested the need for the Expo to evolve, particularly in regards to the Association's efforts to attract a wider audience to the event – for example related professions such as interior designers, architects and other specifiers.

It has been decided that re-branding the event is an obvious means to broaden Expo's appeal to encompass these new custom installation and design professional target groups, and, as a result, the CEDIA Expo Committee has recommended, with full Board agreement, to re-christen next year’s show 'The Home Technology Event 2010 in association with CEDIA' (you'll no doubt have already noticed the new-look logo created to promote the show!)

Despite this change, the Association has restated its commitment to delivering a show fully representative of the CI industry, and one that will remain a key event in the calendar both for education and for business.
