NICEIC BACKS ‘WIRED FOR TECHNOLOGY’

NICEIC, the electrical contracting industry’s independent voluntary body, has announced its backing for the 'Wired for Technology' conference, organised by CEDIA.
The conference will take place at ExCeL London on the morning of Thursday 17th June at the Home Technology Event and is designed to help electrical contractors better understand the smart homes market. A series of presentations will be given to introduce the sector, as well as a session led by Tony Cable, Senior Marketing and Events Executive at the NICEIC, and the event will also include a guided tour of the 100+ exhibitors who typically occupy the event’s show floor, allowing contractors to familiarise themselves with the key brands and products.

We’re delighted to have the NICEIC’s support for this conference,” said Matt Nimmons, Operations Director at CEDIA. “There is a genuine and growing appetite for knowledge about the smart homes industry from within the electrical contracting sector. With this in mind, it is important that we take the message of professionalism and education out to this receptive audience, in order to ensure that standards are upheld within the industry. With a number of our members already working closely with electrical contractors on projects, growing awareness in this way can only be of mutual benefit.

Aligning ourselves with other Associations within the wider construction industry continues to form a core component of our outreach strategy,” he added. “Working with the NICEIC on joint initiatives such as the 'Wired for Technology Conference' allows us to better educate their membership about the support available to them through CEDIA and its members.

NICEIC is delighted that CEDIA has invited Tony Cable to speak at the ‘Wired for Technology’ conference at ExCel in June,” commented Mark Smith, Marketing Manager at NICEIC. “Tony has been working in the electrical contracting industry for over 50 years and has witnessed first-hand a lot of technology changes to the average British house since he started as an apprentice back in 1957. NICEIC is keen to support this event.

A full conference programme will be available shortly. For more information about CEDIA, visit www.cedia.co.uk.
