The upcoming IFA 2009 show is set to top the success of last year
Compared to this time last year, almost 99% of Hall space has been reserved, with a number of consumer electronics and home appliance brands set to appear for the first time this September.

“IFA’s carefully tailored concept aimed at the requirements of exhibitors and trading partners, which has been continuously developed to suit market requirements and trends, has achieved positive results. IFA represents a unique foundation on which to base the long-term business success of industry and trade – particularly in times of crisis”, commented Dr. Rainer Hecker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IFA’s organisers Gesellschaft für Unterhaltungs- und Kommunikationselektronik (gfu).

Echoing this positive outlook, Dr. Christian Göke, Chief Operating Officer of Messe Berlin said: “We have good reason to be confident that the industry will achieve the same high level of success at IFA 2009 as it did last year. In the face of market challenges, the industry’s exhibitors have proved to be reliable partners, side by side with the trade.”

As of this year, the IFA TecWatch will be serving as an exclusive platform for European research projects, developers from industry, international trade associations, and German research institutions and universities to present product firsts. Set to attract international attention, TecWatch will focus on topics such as assisted living, the personal home, innovative audio and smart interfaces.

Taking place between 4th - 9th September in Berlin, tickets to IFA 2009 will be available to trade visitors from June via an online ticket shop at http://www.ifa-berlin.com, at a reduced sales price. Members of the trade can alternatively redeem a ticket voucher.

Visitor tickets can also be purchased by contacting the UK & Ireland representative Jennifer Hall on
