Annual AV sale has consumers queuing for a bargain
The event, which got underway on Saturday May 1st, runs until June 5th at the company's New Malden premises and includes an array of exclusive offers on the latest Home Cinema and Hi-Fi kit.
For the first time in its history, queues formed outside in advance of the doors opening (some intrepid souls turned up on Thursday evening), with visitors hoping to snap up such incredible bargains as a 50-inch plasma screen for just £99, as well as a range of other Panasonic LCD and plasma screens from £299. Hi-Fi fans haven't been forgotten, either, with Chord's DAC64 (RRP £2000) on offer at £500.
The Blue Murder Sale stands out from the crowd as it is the only dedicated dealer sale actively supported and endorsed by a number of the leading home entertainment manufacturers, resulting in several products being made available specifically for the occasion. These include a number of Bowers & Wilkins' SVI Award-winning Zeppelins, which are available at £189 – almost half price.
Barring a short break in the early 90s, the sale has been running every year since 1983, pulling in increasingly high attendances and attracting AV fans from across the country.
