Train Of Thought
CEDIA has released its first set of dates for its established training and education programme in 2017. Alongside its most popular lighting and design courses, exam certifications and manufacturer and distributor training, CEDIA has revealed two brand new business-focused education courses have been added to its 2017 education scheme.
The newly formed, one-day business courses, ‘Developing a Competitive Commercial Strategy for Your Business’ and ‘Consultative Selling Skills Training’, have been designed to arm attendees with the key tools required to maximise business opportunities and success in the home technology industry.
These two new courses sit alongside an ever-growing education programme that CEDIA offers home technology professionals. This year, some of the old favourites make a return, including The Principles of Project Management, Residential Networking, Home Cinema for Designers and Rack Building and Wiring Fundamentals.
Alongside a growing and robust list of CEDIA courses on offer, CEDIA also aims to offer more accessible training across the UK. For 2017, CEDIA has confirmed that five training classes are already booked at Unicam in Leeds in 2017, whilst six courses are set to take place at AWE headquarters in Epsom, Surrey. The rest of the training sessions are hosted at the CEDIA HQ in St Neots.
CEDIA has released the 2017 Training and Curriculum Guide which lists the full training programme for the year. The 74-page document provides the home technology industry with information on its training courses, structured curriculum programme and career development pathways. For those who are starting out, the guide is a useful tool for understanding how to progress in the industry. It offers concise flowcharts and advice for new employees, as well as a number of training-based options. Other parts of the guide are directed at those with more industry experience.
