Affordable media distribution system now supports up to 24 viewing locations
The former can now distribute AV content to a maximum of 24 Cat5-connected View boxes with the aid of up to eight tuner expansion cards. Running enterprise-grade Windows Server 2003 software, the Theatron Server can be specified with up to 24TB of local storage and import DVD (and with the appropriate software installed, Blu-ray) discs via a one-touch import process.

The Windows 7 / Windows Media Centre-based View boxes (available to trade customers for under £1000 each) are meanwhile housed within compact, passively cooled VESA-mountable enclosures. As well enabling the playback of 1080p video, music and image files stored on the main Server unit, each View unit can also be used as a PVR to pause, record and review live broadcasts, saving any captured material back to the main server for access by other connected players. They can also access AV material stored on Theatron’s Stellar and Orbit integrated server/players, both of which can support up to two View boxes at a time.

A dealer price list for Theatron’s range of devices and components can be obtained by contacting Theatron direct.
