High-end projection veterans Sim2 have added another fearsomely powerful 1080p unit to their flagship Grand Cinema C3X Series.
Firmly occupying the very upper end of home cinema market, the C3X Lumix Host offers a headline-grabbing contrast ratio in excess of 35,000:1 with the aid of a specially-designed light intensity control system, an impressive brightness of 3000 ANSI lumens and comes housed in one of Sim2’s signature designer chassis.
Based around Texas Instruments’ up-to-the-minute DarkChip4 DLP technology, the three-chip C3X Lumic Host also offers an outboard electronics control module which, via Sim2’s ‘High-Definition Optical Signal Transfer’ (HOST) system, can be linked to the projector via fibre optic cable over distances of up to 250-metres. Said module includes a total of six HDMI inputs, three HD-capable component ports and the usual brace of legacy connections, alongside support for IR, RS-232 and IP-addressable control options.
Available now, it certainly seems to be a highly impressive package – albeit one carrying a suitably impressive MSRP of £27,000.
