Midwich Group trade event at Ascot showcases latest tech and sees several trade announcements
The event’s AV and CI highlights included a number of attention-grabbing 3D exhibits, not least a demonstration of Panasonic’s 85-inch, 3D professional plasma display, the TH-85VX200U, which will be available from Invision Express as of February 2011. Also present was LG’s LD950 passive 3D set, 60-inch sets from Sharp featuring its Quattron four-pixel colour technology in both 3D and non-3D versions and Samsung’s brushed aluminium-clad LED ‘Elite AV’ range, represented by the 55-inch C9000, available to installers and selected trade partners exclusively through Invision Express.
On show elsewhere were AV receivers from Onkyo, projector offerings from Optoma and its premium ThemeScene brand and Mountech’s 30- and 50-inch 1500/1599 plasma lifts launched earlier in the year. Technology Exposed also saw a number of AV mounting solutions from Peerless, following the recently announced distribution deal between the manufacturer and Invision Express.
Away from the show floor, visitors were also able to attend introductory seminars hosted by CEDIA, automation systems vendor RTI and home networking specialist Packedge Device & Software.
According to Midwich Divisional Director, Darren Lewitt, “I am delighted to report that our Technology Exposed event was a resounding success, attracting more than 600 attendees over two days. The feedback from our reseller and vendor partners has all been extremely positive.”
