Sanus, a brand of Milestone AV Technologies, has revamped its well-regarded MountFinder and HeightFinder tools to provide greatly enhanced assistance for consumers and installers when choosing a mount for their TV. No longer simply a list of compatible mounts, the new MountFinder, to be found at mountfinder.sanus.com, is a comprehensive selection tool, which helps users choose the right mount for their TV, and the application in which it will be used. HeightFinder provides fool proof instructions on the mounting position and where to drill the holes for the perfect installation.

With so many different models of TVs available and an almost limitless number of possibilities for mounting the display in a room, Sanus has taken the confusion out of the decision-making process with a thorough explanation of what the different types of mount are and the benefits they offer. As soon as the customer or installer visits the Sanus website and selects MountFinder they are provided with a visual at-a-glance features and benefits chart, explaining the differences between full motion, tilting and fixed mount designs.

Everybody needs something different from a mount, for example, the ability to watch from multiple locations within a room, or to mount it in the corner. The visual guide and new accompanying explanatory videos guide the user to the correct type of mount for their TV and circumstances. Once the type is selected and the TV make and model inputted, the MountFinder filters the results by type, making the selection much faster than previously possible. The MountFinder is provided by the largest database of tens of thousands TVs and updated by a full time resource every day. Clicking on the selected model provides several assets, including instruction manuals, technical drawings and, most importantly, simple video instructions on how to install the mount.

Once the correct mount has been chosen, the HeightFinder tool can be used to ascertain the correct mounting position. Again, using a graphical interface, customers select the make and model of their TV, answer a couple of simple questions including the desired height from the floor for the TV and the HeightFinder works out the positon of the screw holes. This simple set-by-step guide, which includes recommendations for the mounting of the TV to provide the optimum viewing position, takes the worry out of the installation process.

Launching these improved online tools, Rick Van Bommel, senior international marketing and product manager, says: “Our research into customer behaviour highlighted two areas of confusion that we have worked hard to overcome with the new MountFinder and HeightFinder. Firstly, users don’t always know how to choose what’s right for them and secondly, they can be fearful of the installation process. MountFinder makes the identification of type and model extremely simple and the educational assets we have put together, along with the HeightFinder, demonstrate just how easy it is to install a mount.” He concludes, “We want our customers to be confident with their purchase decision and comfortable with the process of installation, and the new tools achieve both these objectives.”
