KNX UK has announced the election of four new board members following this year’s AGM at the British Library, London. Mark Gedrych of Baulogic, Jon Payne of Entech, Paul Jones of BEG and Neil Grant of Harris & Grant will each be serving a term for the association.
Mark Gedrych is Director of home automation and building controls specialist Baulogic and comments: “I am delighted that Baulogic has been elected to the board of KNX UK. I am looking forward to working with my fellow integrators, manufacturers and training centres on the board to promote KNX as the first choice for consultants, architects, engineers and installers for intelligent home and building controls. Baulogic has worked with KNX for almost 10-years in both the residential and commercial sectors, and we know first-hand that KNX is the best foundation for the integration of the widest selection of building automation systems. I now hope that in my time on the board I can help to bring the benefits of the KNX communication standard to a wider audience.”
Paul Jones is the Director-UK & Ireland of B.E.G (UK) Ltd, a manufacturer member of KNX UK. Upon his election, he commented: “I’m delighted to have joined such a prestigious network and I am looking forward to sharing ideas in KNX’s pursuit of driving energy efficiency worldwide with intelligent home and building control. My aim is to promote KNX as a totally integrated living environment solution that becomes the most prominent system in the world. This means helping organisations understand the key benefits of KNX, and increase its presence in the marketplace.”
Neil Grant is the founder and Managing Director of marine, residential and commercial AV integration specialist Harris Grant. “KNX is right at the heart of all our large-scale projects,” says Neil. “It gives us the power to connect and orchestrate the right technologies in the right places for a seamless user experience – on board a superyacht or in a luxury residence. At Harris Grant, we’ve been advocating the benefits of KNX for over a decade. Now as a member of the UK board I look forward to promoting KNX to an even wider audience.”
Jon Payne is Business Development and Management for Entech, a KNX provider for the industrial and commercial market. He shared his thoughts on KNX: “From my perspective, the true value of KNX means quality integrators selecting the correct products, delivering to a high standard and selling the total package at the right price for the market.
KNX is here to stay, but it needs to be the correct product – as the global trend to drift from wires to wireless in all industries continues, so will controls drift to wireless – and probably much faster than we expect. KNX needs to be ready for the future by being the best choice now, and in 10 years’ time. This is what we need to achieve.”
The AGM also saw the election of Iain Gordon, GES Digital to the role of KNX UK President, a position he will hold for the year.
