AV mounting hardware, racks and accessories behemoth, Sanus, has reinforced its credentials as the installer’s brand of choice with new installer focused information literature, an ingenious accessories mounting system and mounts for extra-large and curved TVs.
To build on the success of the company’s first Installer Solutions booklet, launched in 2015, Sanus has gone back to its installer customers for their feedback to help it develop the second edition. The 2016 Installer Solutions Guide is a handy pocket sized publication, in a pull-out format, that explains why Sanus is the brand of choice for professional installers and highlights the ‘need-to-know’ information about each of the three styles of TV mount – Full Motion, Tilting and Fixed. Each section features the primary technologies incorporated in the products and focuses on three recommendations for large or extra-large TVs and Super-Slim mounting.
The reverse of the guide provides instant access to information on the company’s curved TV mounting solution, AV furniture, skeleton and pre-assembled AV racks and other accessory products, such as Sonos speaker stands, soundbar and projector mounts.
The continuing move towards the installation of ever-bigger screen sizes has led Sanus to develop a range specifically designed to mount XL screens. The XF228 is a full-motion mount capable of safely mounting TVs up to 90” in size and weighing 79 kg, while at the same time enabling an extension of over 70cm, 150∘ swivel and 20∘ tilt. Extra-large screen sizes can also be installed using the LT25 tilting and LL22 fixed mounts.
With the advent of small form media boxes, such as Apple TV or Roku, and multi-room audio solutions like Sonos, the installer has had to find methods of securing these behind the TV, usually with unsatisfactory solutions comprising multiple tie-wraps. The development team at Sanus, many of who are experienced installers, has come up with a beautifully simple but effective solution to the problem that is compatible with any mount. The Small Parts Panel is a perforated metal plate that affixes to the TV mount or directly to a VESA hole on the rear of the TV. The accessory product is then fixed in place to the Small Parts Panel with tie-down fasteners and an anti-slide material ensures the accessory doesn’t slip from its position.
Further evidence of Sanus’ dedicated to the custom installation channel is clear in the company’s award-winning Cadenza furniture racks. Cleverly disguised as craftsman made pieces of furniture, these innovative products neatly hide built-in 19-inch racks behind wooden doors, feature an adjustable width housing for centre channel speakers or soundbars and shelves for AV products. And, for installations that demand a more traditional rack mounting solution, the company’s Stackable Skeleton Racks provide installers with maximum height flexibility, from 15U to 40U, and minimum stock holding requirements. The CFR1615 (15U) and CFR1620 (20U) are modular and stackable and can be combined to make all height combinations and requirements.
