Vita Audio has given its acclaimed R1 DAB radio an overhaul, resulting in the R1 MkII. New additions include adjustable bass and treble controls, an audio input for external sound sources, a line output and a more advanced alarm function which now lets users schedule dual alarms to sound once, daily, on weekdays and at weekends only.

Accompanying the launch is a pair of accessories designed to take full advantage of its compact form factor – the £49.99 ‘CarryPack’ hand-stitched carry case available in tan or leather and the £49.99 ‘BackPack’ rechargable NiMH power pack. The R1 MkII itself retails for £159.99 in a standard veneer finish and £179.99 with a gloss lacquer finish.
