Sanyo have recently introduced two new large-scale projectors – the 10,000 lumens, dual lamp-equipped PLC-HF10000L and the 15,000 lumens PLC-HF15000L assisted by a quartet of hot-swappable lamps. Both models utilise 2K LCD panel technology and Sanyo’s ‘QuaDrive’ optical engine, which helps to improve the quality of onscreen colour shading by adding and subtracting yellow spectral energy through an additional fourth LCD panel – thus compensating for the colour imbalances that can be caused by projection lamps.
Also common to both is the Active Maintenance Cleaner utility, comprising three mesh, electrostatic honeycomb and electrostatic pleated filters and a set of electronically controlled brushes, which Sanyo say will allow for around 12,000 hours of maintenance-free operation.
Other features include standardised brightness, edge-blending and colour-matching controls for multi-projector applications, a built-in base plate for ceiling use, picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes, and remote/network-enabled control of all zoom, focus and lens shift mechanisms. The selection of ports on both take in DVI-D, HDMI 1.3, D-SUB, component and S-video inputs, together with RJ45 Ethernet, RS-232 serial control terminals.
