REL Acoustics G1 Sub-Bass System

Low frequency specialist REL Acoustics has unleashed its mightiest subwoofer yet in the form of the G1.

Housed within its heavily braced and generously proportioned enclosure is a 12-inch carbon fibre drive unit capable of withstanding a pistonic stroke of up to 1¾-inches, backed up by a 600W class A/B power amplifier equipped with heavy-duty power supplies and a beefy transformer.

The G5’s connections include a pair of high- and low-level inputs with the option to blend and individually control both, for instances where the unit has to carry signals from main speaker channels in addition to dedicated ‘.1’ low frequency sounds. Multiple G5s can be connected together as stereo pairs or stacked in a tower formation, while the inclusion of REL’s ‘REL-D’ proprietary circuit will additionally provide suitable grounding when the unit is used in conjunction with most Class-D amplifiers.

Supplied in the package is a disc-shaped IR remote that allows users to adjust ‘Hi/Lo’ and .1/LFE levels and alter crossover frequencies, while monitoring settings via the front-mounted LED display. The REL G5 is available now at an SRP of £2999.
