Packing a power output of 7x 150W into 6Ω, this THX-certified high-end AV receiver from Pioneer features six HDMI 1.4a inputs (plus two outputs) the ability to carry high definition 3D content and support for Dolby and DTS’ HD audio formats, together with the front height channels employed by Dolby Pro Logic IIz.
Other notable additions include Pioneer’s Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System, Internet radio reception via its Ethernet port, Bluetooth functionality through a supplied AS-BT100 adaptor and full iPod compatibility via a USB connection. In terms of video, there’s the 1080p upscaling for standard-def sources that one would expect and support for the HDMI 1.3 mainstays of x.v. Colour and Deep Colour. Supplied with a glow-lit learning remote, it can also be used in conjunction with touchscreen Apple devices through Pioneer’s freely downloadable iControlAV app.
