Opus's new 6 Series is an integrated solution that combines the provision of multi-room audio and video with the ability to control a wide range of domestic systems, including lighting, energy management and security. At its heart is the MCU610 Master Control Unit, a hub capable of distributing entertainment to up to six zones plus six sub-zones at the touch of an Opus touchscreen, iPhone or other third-party solution. In addition to this, it enables seamless integration of third-party smart technologies such as lighting, HVAC and security, and other entertainment solutions such as Apple TV and media servers.
For the largest residential installations, multiple MCU610s can be utilised in concert, allowing the system to serve up to 36 rooms. Even in cases such these, installing and setting-up a 6 Series system is a pleasingly simple business – a fact that's sure to see it prove popular when it's launched in mid-2010.
