The latest addition to Optoma’s ThemeScene range of home cinema projectors is its flagship 1080p-capable HD87.
Positioned as a direct follow-up to the HD86, the newer model boasts three HDMI 1.3 inputs, an ANSI contrast ratio of 800:1 (measured according to a projector’s ability to display white and black extremes simultaneously) and a revised brightness rating of 1700 ANSI lumens.
Other improvements include its use of Puremotion3, the latest generation of Optoma’s frame interpolation technology designed to combat instances of judder and motion blur, and a refined Colour Management System that now allows users to adjust the luminance values of specific colours.
The HD87 is available now, supplied with one of three lens types at the following price points: 1.54-1.93:1 standard (£2799), 1.93-2.91:1 long throw (£2999) and 0.77:1 short throw (£3399).
