Optoma is looking to tempt home cinema fans with an entry-level offering that promises 24p full-HD visuals at a competitive price. The 1080p HD67 features a compact design that can see it either permanently installed or moved from room to room and a brightness of 1800 ANSI Lumens. Optoma are furthermore keen to stress that the HD67 boasts a 400:1 ANSI Contrast ratio, said metric being its ability to display full white and full blacks onscreen simultaneously, as opposed the alternating ‘black screen, white screen’ measurement often employed by other manufacturers.
In terms of sockets, the input panel includes one HDMI 1.3 port, together with VGA, S-Video, composite video, 3.5mm stereo and RS232 3-pin mini-DIN connectors and a 3.5mm stereo output. Control can be performed via infra-red or RS232. Supplied with a five-year guarantee, the HD67 is available now, priced at £599.
