When it comes to companies like Marantz you know what to expect. With years of experience in the AV industry audio quality and industry expertise are guaranteed so when we heard that Marantz was due to release two new AV receivers of the same ilk as last year’s SR7005 model we knew that our excitement was justified.
Inheriting, and building upon, the internal trickery of their predecessor the SR5006 and SR6006 (pictured) also benefit sleek and svelte design for the aesthetically concerned customers you have on your hands. The 3D AV receivers are fully equipped for the connected home featuring an on-board Ethernet port allowing for audio streaming from home networks as well as subscription-based web-services and over 14,000 Internet radio stations. Accepting our industry’s fruit based overlords the new receivers feature AirPlay functionality letting users unleash their iTunes libraries via their iDevice, which can also control the receiver thanks to Marantz’s free app.
The more powerful of the two the SR6006 delivers a high quality digital audio signal - up to Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD – which is fed via one of the seven 3D supporting HDMI 1.4 inputs. Also featuring Audyssey Dynamic Volume as well as the Marantz Dynamic Expander version two sound quality is beyond reproach. The SR6006 also handles the visuals too and with video up-scaling of analogue and digital video signals up to 1080p it can bring out the best of existing SD quality sources such as DVD, game consoles or even VHS – in case you’re stuck in the 90’s.
