Apart from the fact that they remind us of a band that makes us wish we didn't have ears we're big fans of Keene Electronics here at SVI and their latest offering; the KIRA128 RS232 is indicative of just why that is. The KIRA128 RS232 is an IP based network product that can be accessed by any device you can think of which features a web browser. It has it's own IP address and built in web server and in addition to the ability to send stored IR codes when triggered by IP commands it will also send stored IR codes when triggered by Keene defined ASCII commands via RS232. Also, when used in conjunction with a suitable bridge it provides easy IP control for X10 modules.
As if all that wasn't enough though those clever people at Keene have made it compatible with independent iPhone and iPad apps meaning that control, and therefore in some small way life, for the end user is that little bit easier. The Keene KIRA128 RS232 is available now for £85
