When it comes to retrofitting older buildings with the necessary connections ahead of a major install project, installers usually have three cabling options – HDMI, fibre and twisted pair. Well they can now add RG6 and RG59 single coaxial to that list, thanks to Intelix and its DIGI-HD-COAX extender.
The HDMI 1.3-compatible unit will carry 1080p signals up to 300ft, 1080i and 720p signals up to 675ft (both with support for HDCP) and standard-def 480i/p signals up to 1000ft. Its built-in amplified splitter and dual outputs allows two displays to be supported simultaneously, along with the option to daisy chain up to five separated locations. The DIGI-HD-COAX extender will be available from Intellix’s UK distributor, Purchase AV.
