Silverline Five is the world’s first fire-resistant CL3-Rated ‘audiophile’ loudspeaker cable, approved for in-wall and between-floor use in residential and commercial installations.
QED is a brand of Armour Home; Phil Davis, their category manager with special responsibility for QED, said: “The new cable has been developed as a special professional installation version of our multi-award winning Silver Anniversary Hi-Fi speaker cable and brings hi-fidelity purist performance to the custom installation market for the first time.”
The non-directional Silverline Five cable features four rope-laid central conductors with optimised geometrical spacing, with each conductor consisting of four 99.999 % oxygen-free, silver-plated copper, central conductors. With a an outer diameter of 3.4mm, the cable is sheathed in a flexible white PVC outer jacket, and its capacitance is rated at 42.9 pF/m, its Loop Inductance at 0.51 uH/m, its Loop Resistance at 14.9m and its Dissipation Factor@10kHz is 0.0060.
To assist installers, Silverline Five is ‘metre marked’ and comes in a professional, ratcheted ‘resistive pull’ carton, which ensures accurate issuing and measurement of the cable on site. For best results it should be used in conjunction with QED Airloc banana plugs.
Available now from authorised QED dealers, the Silverline Five is priced at £5 per metre inc. VAT.
