GEFEN HDMI 1.3-OVER-CAT-5 ELR EXTENDER

Connectivity solutions specialist Gefen has announced the release of its new HDMI 1.3 over CAT5 ELR (Extra Long Range) extender. This sender/receiver combo sends hi-def video with audio, Ethernet and IR back channel up to 100-metres over a single CAT5 cable – a distance nearly double the length previously achievable with even dual CAT5 cables.
The extender's capacity to extend Ethernet allows IP-based applications to be integrated into a system with a minimum of fuss, whilst an IR blaster enables the remote source to be controlled by an IR remote pointed at the display. Hi-def resolutions up to 1080p supporting deep colour, lip sync and 8.1 digital audio with Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio are delivered virtually instantly from the local source to the extended display.
Also offering true plug-and-play installation, this reliable option should prove a boon to anyone working with HD AV systems.
