EBODE LIGHTSPEAKER

Narrowly missing out on a mention in our ISE preview (see issue 69), BMB Electronics has announced the launch of its innovative ebode LightSpeaker. Combining low power consumption, dimmable LED lighting with wireless sound in one convenient plug-and-play system, the device saves end-users money on their power bills and can be configured to distribute audio to up to four rooms.
Easily installed (LightSpeaker can, reportedly, be installed, connected and activated in just a few minutes), the system utilises a standard E27 screw socket plus a host of different light fittings – from recessed fixtures to table lamps and pendants. Its LED light module affords a massive 40,000 hours of illumination, meaning it will only need to be changed approximately every 15 years.
LightSpeaker also features a custom-engineered speaker module, featuring an 80mm wide full-range driver, that employs digital amplification and signal processing to optimise audio output.
Up to two sources can be connected to LightSpeaker via a transmitter situated in the system's base station. This has the capacity to serve four pairs of wireless speakers, allowing for four discrete zones of audio, or multiple listening areas with a single room. The transmitter – base station and an included RF remote – also provides control over zone selection and volume and lighting levels.
