DF SOLUTIONS BASE MEDIA SERVER

It has been announced that media server specialist DF Solutions' Base media server, which is exclusively available from AWE, is now fully enabled for Blu-ray disc storage, playback and multi-room distribution.
“HD video is continuing to grow in popularity and the new Blu-ray functionality will provide a major boost to dealers,” commented James Drummie, Internal Sales manager at AWE Europe. “The Base Media Server from DF Solutions is the most affordable media server on the market with full Blu-ray compatibility. This, alongside other new features, including remote access for installer maintenance ensures the upgraded Base media server is still exactly what dealers ask for.”
The server features 1TB internal storage but can be linked to additional LAN-based NAS devices on a home network as required – a solution that ensures there are no tie-ins to expensive storage options. Both the Base and its Link clients can be used as Blu-ray players directly, but users can also choose to make Blu-ray images on their PC (with commercially available software) as Base has the capacity to identify .iso files on the network and add them to its library ready for distribution around the home in Full HD. Its unique 3D interface and automatically-downloaded metadata makes browsing media of all kinds easy, and also provides access to YouTube, RSS feeds, Internet Radio and Last.FM.
Other new features include the latest Teamviewer software, which enables installers to access the the unit over the internet and offer real-time technical support; parental controls and a 'Party Mode', which synchronises all zones to provide audio playback at the same time.
