Further adding to its already award winning range of speaker cables is Atlas cables with the release of the Atlas Hyper MK II Asymmetrical and the Hyper Symmetrical. The Atlas Hyper MK II Asymmetrical is a superior unbalanced cable that consists of a central conductor made up of 95 individual strands of OCC (Ohno Continuous Casting) copper wire with 99.9997% purity. Insulated by an extremely low-loss foamed polyethylene dielectric, the return conductor is a two-layer braid made from a total of 192 strands of Ultra-Pure OFC (Oxygen Free Copper). This double layer of tightly woven wire mesh is wrapped over a PVC foil to provide 100% rejection of RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) ensuring that the music signal is kept free of any external interference or noise. The conductors are bedded into copper yarns and covered by a soft gloss black PVC sleeve. The Atlas Hyper MK II is recommended for use in the analogue domain between a CD, DVD or DAC etc. and the pre or integrated amplifier.
A balanced cable design, the Hyper Symmetrical uses a pair of OCC copper conductors with an extremely high purity 99.9997% that are twisted together (for separate signals) for the very best in noise interference reduction. Each conductor is constructed using a single 0.4 mm core which is then shrouded by 72 individual strands. Insulated by dielectrics that are made of extremely low-loss foamed polyethylene, the conductors are shielded by a two-layer braid consisting of 192 strands of Ultra Pure OFC copper. This double layer of tightly woven wire mesh is wrapped over a PVC foil to provide 100% rejection of RFI (Radio Frequency Interference). As with the Hyper MK II, the conductors are bedded into copper yarns and covered by a soft gloss black PVC sleeve. The Atlas Hyper Symmetrical is recommended for analogue interfaces such as that between a turntable and pre-amplifier or between pre and power amplifier where RCA sockets are provided. Atlas Symmetrical can also be fitted with XLR plugs for truly balanced analogue applications.
