For everyone who voted in our inaugural SVI Awards, we offer our sincerest thanks – and some free kit!
In just two weeks time we will have the pleasure of announcing the nominees, and if early indications are anything to go by, the competition will be fierce. We are also faced with the happy task of announcing the winners of the following kit that has been kindly donated:

LOGITECH HARMONY 1000
Courtesy of Invision UK, we have this latest addition to the Harmony range of universal remote controls. Featuring a 3.5-inch colour touch-sensitive screen and patented Smart State Technology, the Harmony 1000 enables users to switch between listening to music and watching home cinema by simply selecting a single activity button.

Capable of controlling any device with an infrared receiver, including High Definition TVs and DVD-players, the optional Logitech Harmony Wireless Extender provides the added convenience of allowing entertainment systems to be operated without the need to point the control panel in a specific direction.

The Harmony 1000 has a suggested retail price of £250 and is available in a brushed chrome and piano-black finish. The Logitech Harmony Wireless Extender retails at £70.

AMBRI 1100
The Ambri 1100 cabinet has been kindly donated by Alphason Designs, and can support LCD/ plasma screens up to 50-inches in size. Featuring an enclosed design, the cabinet sports an inlaid safety glass door, which exhibits a pleasingly smooth action when opened and closed. The interior accommodates a variety of AV products, such as DVD-players, thanks to an adjustable safety glass shelf.

For further convenience, the interior features integral storage for both CDs and DVDs in the form of an adjustable, clear safety glass shelf, whilst the rear panel of the cabinet has been colour matched with pre-cut slots providing easy cable access. With full 360-degree motion, no less than six roller glides ensure that all movement is virtually effortless.

The Ambri 1100 is available in a choice of three finishes, including Black Satin Sparkle, a Walnut real-wood veneer and a Light Oak real-wood veneer finish – the version all voters in the SVI Awards will be eligible to win.

Manufacturer AVF, have kindly donated not one, not two, but three Nexus mounts!

They are:

NXL004
A multi-position mount for LCD screens up to 23-inches in size and weighing up to 15kg (33lbs), the NXL004 boasts three swivel points and tilt, providing unlimited positioning options. Made of cast aluminium, installation is simple thanks to the ‘click & lock’ mechanism, which also ensures that the screen level can be finely adjusted.

The NXL004 was shortlisted in the Industrial Design category of the BDI Industry & Genius awards 2007.

NXL604
With five swivel points, the NXL604 ‘Infinity’ LCD mount is capable of mounting screens that measure up to 40-inches and weigh up to 40kg (88lbs). Offering multi-positioning, larger screens can be extended out from the wall past 90-degrees on either side, or pushed flat to the wall – either of which can be achieved by using just one hand.

Featuring the ‘click & lock’ mechanism for initial installation, as well as the locking control mechanism for minute adjustment to the level of the screen, installation of the cast aluminium NXL604 is a simple matter.

NXP802
With four curved fitting arms ensuring flexible positioning, the NXP802 (pictured) boasts universal compatibility with projectors up to 22kg (50lbs). Thanks to a smooth 360-degree rotation and 30-degree tilt, precise visual alignment can be easily achieved with this installation-friendly mount.

All announcements will be made on March 17th, so until then, all that's left for me to say is watch this space!
